Inside: April 19th

  • Apple have just released a couple of new adverts for the iPhone 4S and this time round they’re using celebrities. Samuel L Jackson and Zooey Deschanel are shown using Siri to help them complete tasks. I think I prefer The Big Bang Theory advertising Siri.

  • Google Currents, a social reader application has finally launched in the UK. You can download the application through Google Play to receive feeds from publications such as The Independent, The Guardian, Now Magazine and many more.
  • Adidas has launched its biggest UK campaign ever. Centring around ads (featuring TeamGB athletes among a few other famous faces), website activity, Facebook and #takethestage hashtag on Twitter.

  • In this week’s Marketing Magazine Shuvo Saha, Google’s Industry Director, FMCG praises L’Oreal’s Destination Beauty. A YouTube channel helping consumers get the look they want by collaborating with YouTube beauty gurus.

  • Barclays have launched a viral campaign in aid of its app, Pingit. A customised version of this hilarious video is available on Facebook for users to send to friends who owe them money.

  • I may be a little slow on the pick-up here but have you tried BranchOut yet? LinkedIN’s biggest rival is a Facebook app!

  • In October, I’m returning to my final year of university to write the dreaded dissertation. Personally, I can’t really think of much worse however if research is your thing there is a fantastic opportunity with the CIPR and PRIME Research
