The World's First Social Games

After 16 days of sporting excellence, the London 2012 Olympics have finally drawn to a close. This year was always predicted to be the 'big one' for social media, hence the games dubbed as The World's First Social Games. 

Four years have passed since the last Olympics in Beijing. In terms of Internet changes, four years is a lifetime. In 2008, 1.5 million global users were on the Internet compared with the 2.3 billion today. Since then, social media has exploded too as you can see from the chart.
